Kelowna Hockey Fest Great Success!

Strength coaches Mark Fitzgerald and Travis Martell hosted a rigorous week of on-ice & off-ice training to a star studded roster of players in Kelowna this past week and concluded with a game in front of thousands at Prospera Arena. Congratulations to Fitzy & Marty on their hard work and to all the players that took part in the action.

Rosters included coaches Shea Weber, Josh Gorges, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Jessica Campbell; and NHL players Curtis Lazar, Tyler Myers, Brayden Schenn, Damon Severson, Justin Schultz, James Reimer among a cast of up and coming NHL prospects!

Being Rich vs. Being Wealthy

Saving money is hard. There is no short cut or life hack that makes sacrificing spending a dollar today vs. saving it for tomorrow easy… BUT when you start understanding the difference between being rich & being wealthy, suddenly what you’re working towards becomes much more clear (and turns saving into a meaningful endeavour towards a larger goal).

Hard Work Alone Does Not Guarantee Success – You Also Need to Work Smart!

Even if you know nothing about the value of money, saving or investing; as a competitive athlete you understand this concept better than most. You have probably played with a lot of guys who outworked everyone on the ice, but without combining some brains with that brawn, those guys look like chickens with their heads cut off. This applies to wealth management as well. Saving is not enough, your money needs to grow for you.

Don’t Always Believe the Hype

Certain trends can lead to a lot of excitement for investors who follow the herd; odds are by the time you’ve heard about an UNBELIEVABLE investment opportunity that you need to get into quickly, investors are selling the shares just as quickly.

The most recent examples of industries that created a lot of buzz and fizzled out over time include Marijuana companies, Covid-19 vaccination companies & even fully electric car companies.
